The Richard Ibarra memorial scholarship celebrates the life and accomplishments of Richard Emmanuel Ibarra, who gave his life on December 16, 2009 while serving the communities of Elk Grove and Galt. This scholarship is awarded to one student from the Firefighter Internship program of Cosumnes River College.

In memory of Steve Horning, retired Fire Engineer, who died in a tragic vehicle accident July 21, 2014. Steve was a leader and mentor to not just the firefighters he worked with but the community as a whole. This scholarship is awarded to a graduating high school senior from the Elk Grove and Galt area who best exemplifies Steve's passion for interacting with and preserving the environment.

The Frank Harbert memorial scholarship is awarded to a graduating high school senior from the Elk Grove and Galt area with a focus on higher education. Retired Assistant Chief Harbert was an integral member of the Galt Fire Protection District and in the course of his duties developed occupational aquired cancer, which ultimately took his life.

Paramedic Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to current or past CRC Fire Interns. The scholarship will cover the full cost of a Paramedic Training Program at American River College.
